Gilbert Leon Guenard 86 of Lowell Ma. Passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon October 21, 2024. Gilbert was a resident at Belvidere Healthcare, formally a resident at Town & Country Nursing Home, Gilbert was a US Navy Veteran who retired from Raytheon Corp. where he worked as a Xerox Machine Operator. Gilbert enjoyed playing pool as his past time at George's Cafe in Dracut Ma. and could frequently be found enjoying his cheeseburger at Lafountain's Convenience store where he was well known as the neighborhood joker always cracking jokes and making people laugh. Gilly, as he was known by everyone, will always be remembered as the person who could strike up a conversation with anyone and everyone and by the end of the conversation, he would leave you laughing to yourself. Always willing to lend anyone a hand if needed and never wanted anything in return. Hustling people during his pool days not for money but playing for cokes instead. Gilbert is survived by his Son Stephen Guenard of Lowell his son Eric Guenard and his wife Jenny Guenard as well as his Grandchildren Joshua Guenard, Hannah Guenard, Maia Guenard and Brendan Guenard as well as his numerous extended friends and their families.
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Edgar J. Racicot Funeral Home, 1400 Broadway Rd., Dracut. His funeral procession will begin on Friday, October 25th at 9:00 am, at the Racicot Funeral Home, followed by his funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St. Rita's Parish at 158 Mammoth Rd. Lowell. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery located at 96 Riverneck Rd., Chelmsford. The family would like to give Special thanks to all Gilbert’s friends and Nursing Staff from Town & Country, Belvidere Healthcare, the Special Care Nursing Staff from Hanson Heights Hospice and the gracious assistance from Racicot Funeral Home’s Directors and staff.
