Barbara Jean “Barbie” (Mikels) Vorhees, 56, of Anderson passed away on October 21, 2024 at her home following a brief illness.
She was born on December 23, 1967 in Lafayette, IN. She was a 1986 graduate of Highland High School and attended Indiana University.
She was a librarian for over 15 years at the Anderson Public Library.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Anderson. She loved doing crafts, going to the beach, and country music especially Tim McGraw. She was an avid reader. She had a huge heart and especially loved being a great mom and Mimi B.
She is survived by her parents, Bob and Kelly Lawson of Cicero; two children, Danielle (Kyle) Scott of Muncie and Cody Vorhees of Anderson; a granddaughter, Della Jean Scott; two brothers, Richard “Richie” (Bonita) Mikels of Anderson and Christopher “Chris” (Angela) Lawson of Cicero; special friends, Kelly (Mike) Garland and Dan Kennemuth all of Anderson; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral service will be held at 7:00pm on Friday, October 25, 2024 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Cassaundra Day. A private burial will take place in East Maplewood Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be from 4:00pm-7:00pm on Friday at the funeral home.
