Douglas H. Bordeaux
Hollis - Douglas Harold Bordeaux of Hollis passed away unexpectedly at his home on October 19, 2024, at the age of 69.
Doug was born in Corinth, NY on May 7, 1955, the son of the late Elaine (Baker) Dobbins and Harold Bordeaux. He married his high school sweetheart and constant companion, Denise Duguay, also of Corinth, NY.
Doug attended Corinth, NY schools and spent his entire career in aviation. He learned to fly at Saratoga Airport with his Uncle Bobby Bordeaux who helped inspire his love of aviation. Doug worked for Bar Harbor Airlines, Eastern Express, and Continental Express until he switched careers from being a commercial pilot to joining the Federal Aviation Administration until retirement in 2021.
He made friends wherever he went and was an active member of the community. He enjoyed his involvement with the Metis of Maine where he proudly held the role of First Chief. An avid hunter, Doug loved spending time in the woods with his son, Don, and his friend, Jack. He was immensely proud of his daughter, Denae, a veterinarian and business owner in Pennsylvania. He always looked forward to spending time with his three grandchildren and providing them with snacks, adventures, and funny stories.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Elaine and Harold, and his father-in-law, Leo Duguay.
He is survived by his wife, Denise of Hollis; his son, Don Bordeaux, and his wife Angie of Buxton; his daughter, Denae (Bordeaux) Ervin and her husband, Todd, of Nazareth, PA; three beautiful grandchildren, Nick and Lexi Ervin and Sammie Bordeaux; his mother-in-law, Elaine Duguay, of Hollis; his brother, Dennis Bordeaux of AZ; his uncle and aunts, Robert and Vivian Bordeaux and Sandra Berg all of NY; his sisters-in-law, Darlene Duguay and Kipp Stovall of NY; many nieces and nephews; and a large number of friends.
At Doug’s request, a service will not be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his memory to the Metis of Maine, 105 Gould Rd, Dayton, ME, 04005.
