LYMAN- Brian LaGassie, age 62, passed away October 19th 2024, peacefully at the Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough, ME, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Brian was the heart of his family and home. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend. In his spare time, Brian loved spending time with his family, being out in the family’s garden, taking photographs, drawing, painting, snowshoeing, long walks on the beach, decorating for the holidays, and spending time in nature. Whatever he took an interest in and set his mind to, he excelled in.
After growing up in Madawaska, Maine, Brian graduated from NMVTI with an AS in computer electronics and USM with a BS in Computer Science. He worked for many years at Loftware Inc in New Hampshire as a Sustaining Software Engineer. He was a western herbalist and a part of the American Herbalist Guild. His greatest pride and joy, however, was his family.
The family is forever grateful to the loving care and compassion he received during his short stay at the Gosnell House.
He is survived by Elaina, his wife of 39 years; his daughter, Katherine, and three step sons that he loved like they were his own sons – Keith Waltz, Michael Waltz, and Johnathon Hall; his grandchildren – Joshua Waltz, Cara Waltz, Brittney Hoag, and Breanna Waltz; his father, Eugene LaGassie; and his brother, Peter LaGassie. He is pre-deceased by his mother, Judy LaGassie.
A celebration of Brian’s life will be held late spring or early summer. Notices will be sent to those who would like to be in attendance. In lieu of flowers, the family requests plants or herbs that can be planted in his garden would be welcome or a donation to The American Cancer Society.
