George Merle Wilson, 79, of Tifton passed away Friday, October 18, 2024, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. A memorial service will be held for Mr. Wilson at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2024, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 25, 2024, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Born March 11, 1945, in Nebraska City, Nebraska, Mr. Wilson was the son of the late Ellis Merle Wilson and Inez Weston Wilson. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Robin Wilson Rogers. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Missouri. Before retiring, he was a Quality Manager at Prestolite Wire in Tifton; and he served four years in the United States Air Force.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Patricia Beckmann Wilson of Tifton; three daughters and one son-in-law, Christine Wilson Schulte and her husband, Scott of Saint Louis, Missouri, Stephanie St. John of Dothan, Alabama and Meagan Wilson of Tifton; three sisters-in-law and their husbands, Sue and Rich Love, Josie and Galen Barlow and Bernadette and Dwayne Lunsford; and thirteen grandchildren, Jason Wilson, Kevin Wilson, Michael Wilson, Migel Macias, Abreanna Butler, Aidan Butler, Andrew Butler, Allen Butler, Christopher Wilson, Joshua Jennings, Kara Jennings, David Jennings and Sloan Rogers.
