Paul E. Strout, a 48-year resident of Malden and formerly of Charlestown and Dorchester, entered into eternal life on Friday, October 18, 2024, at his home in Malden surrounded by his loving family. He was 87 years old.
Paul was born in Boston on October 3, 1937, a son of the late Edward Strout and Eileen (Gosnell) Strout. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated throughout the Boston Public School system and attended Charlestown High School. Paul enlisted into the United States Navy on January 12, 1956, and served his country faithfully and with pride. He was honorably discharged on December 14, 1959, with the rank of Fireman (FN). Paul worked for New England Telephone Company and then AT&T Telephone Company as an Installer for 35 years and retired in 1995. He then worked at Tufts Medical Center in Boston as a private contractor and retired from there in 2004. Paul was a family man most of his life and enjoyed the time he spent with his wife and children.
Paul is the beloved husband of 58 years to Rita M. (McCaffrey) Strout. He is the devoted father of Paul E. Strout and his wife Sachiko of Japan, Brian J. Strout of Malden and the late Eileen E. Strout. He is the beloved brother of Kathleen Brassil of Nashua, New Hampshire and the late Barbara Cotter and her husband John, Judy Durette and her husband Henry, Edward Strout and Eileen Kirby. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Paul's Funeral on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. His entombment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum in Malden. His visiting hours will be on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. in the funeral home.
