Obituary

Mary M. Quinn, of Franklin, Ma, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on
Friday October 18, 2024. Mary is the daughter of the late James and Eva Crowley (Stockwell).
She is predeceased by her husband William Paul Quinn and her son Paul Robert Quinn. Mary
is survived by her loving children William Quinn and his wife Elizabeth, Kathleen Hurley and her husband Daniel, Claire Dulong, Eileen DeWitt and her husband Chris, James Quinn and his
wife Kathy. She cherished her 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Mary was born in Winthrop, Massachusetts in October of 1926. Raised on the ocean with her 5
siblings, she loved swimming, tennis and field hockey. Evenings surrounded by her siblings and her mom on the piano were her favorite. She attended the Carney School of Nursing and
graduated in 1948; obstetrics was her passion. Bringing life into this world makes perfect sense- she was always the nurturer, and filled with compassion. Mary was giving and selfless. She volunteered with the Knights of Columbus serving breakfast to soldiers before attending nursing class. Mary volunteered for the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps, always willing to go overseas if
needed. After completing her nursing program, she left for Van Port Oregon to volunteer with
the Red Cross to care for victims of the Van Port flood.

Mary met her best friend Billy in 1953. On a sunny day in December at St. Johns in Winthrop,
he became her husband. Together, they raised their six children. The devotion to her husband,
family, children, grandchildren, and great children was unsurpassed. She lived a life of kindness, grace, compassion and, of course, mixed in a bit of humor. These qualities, along with her unwavering faith in God and devotion to the Catholic Church, defined her and her beautiful long life.

Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 11 AM in Sacred Heart lower Church, 169 Cummins Highway, Roslindale, MA.
