Lawrence M. Lepore of Medford passed away peacefully on Monday, October 14th at Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln. He was 78. A lifelong Medford resident, Larry was the son of the late Joseph A. and Vivienne R. (Cardosi) Lepore.
Larry was a man who brought people together. In his 40 years of work for the Medford Housing Authority, Larry worked hard to keep apartment units well maintained and helped people to feel welcome in their homes. As the city messenger for nearly 37 years, he played an important role with the city council and city clerk, relaying information between the city council and various city offices and departments. Larry served in the Army Reserve and in his younger years, Larry earned some renown as a country music disk jockey on the former WHIL radio station. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and devoted and loyal friend. Larry enjoyed time spent with family and friends, both here in Medford and at the beach.
The beloved husband of Joan (Fama) Lepore and the late Linda (Addonizio) Lepore, Larry was the devoted father of Tiffany Freedman and devoted stepfather of Patricia Morrissey. He was a loving grandfather to Noah and Jacob. He was a dear brother to Leslie M. Gibson and Joseph A. Lepore. Larry was a devoted uncle to Erika Boyle and her husband Tom, Daniel Lepore, Tara McKenney and her husband Eli, Michael Gibson and wife Robin, and was a great uncle to Bethany and Leah.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to his Mass of Christian burial at Saint Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford on Tuesday, October 22nd at 11:30 AM. Please come directly to the church. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
