Eunice Watson, 91, of North Stonington died on October 6, 2024 at the Westerly Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack A. Watson.
Eunice was born May 15, 1933 in West Canaan, NH, the daughter of the Alfred D. Neily Sr. and Pearl M. (Colburn) Neily. She attended schools in West Canaan and Canaan, NH.
She has been a resident of North Stonington since 1958. She was employed as a clerk at the Jumbo Department Store in Pawcatuck, then in the bakery department of Scotts Valueland in Westerly RI, and as a baker at McQuades Marketplace. Before retiring in 1995, she was employed at the Red Rooster Deli in North Stonington.
Eunice is survived by her son, Jack Jr. of North Stonington, two daughters Nicolene (Richard) Oberg of Westerly and Magdalene (Timothy) Santos of Englewood FL, as well as five granddaughters and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters, Mary Smith of Homosassa FL and Avie McCoy of Phoenix AZ, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her sisters Clara and Marion and six brothers Roger, Dennie, Roy, Wallace, Norman and Herbert.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 19, at 10:00am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 110 High Street, Ashaway RI. Burial will follow in Pendleton Hill Cemetery, Pendleton Hill Road, North Stonington. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the ASPCA of Rhode Island, 155 Plan Way, Warwick RI 02886.
