Pauline E. (Olenik) McLaughlin, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Monday, October 14, 2024, at Lincoln Hospice House in Lincoln. She was 97 years of age.
Pauline was born in Boston on April 19, 1927, a daughter of the late William Olenik and Hazel (Webb) Olenik. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated throughout the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1944. Pauline worked as an Office Clerk for State Street Bank in Boston for over 20 years. In her spare time after dedicating herself most of her life to her children and grandchildren whom she cherished immensely, Pauline found solace in playing games on the computer.
Pauline is the beloved wife of the late retired Boston Firefighter Alfred M. "Al" McLaughlin. She is the devoted mother of Dianne Warren and her companion Richard Mandell, Alfred P. McLaughlin and his wife Cathleen, Christine McLaughlin and her companion retired Boston Police Officer John Rooney, Michael W. McLaughlin, Kevin P. McLaughlin and his wife Ginny, Timothy J. McLaughlin and his late wife Lisa and retired Boston Firefighter Steven K. McLaughlin and his companion Lisa Paradiso. She is the loving Nana to Kimberly, Matthew, Timothy, Caitlin, Amy, Patrick, Taylor, Paige, Ryan, Brittany, Teaghan and also her 14 great-grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of Ronnie Reeves, Laurie Reeves and the late William Olenik and Ada Tibbetts. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Pauline's visiting hours on Saturday afternoon, October 19, 2024, from 1 P.M. to 4 P.M. followed by her Funeral Service at 4 P.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Her burial will be private.
