John C. Keane, of Medford, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, October 14th. He was 80. Born in Somerville, he was the cherished son of the late Denis and Margaret (Burke) Keane. John proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1967, during the Vietnam War.
A natural people person, John loved everyone, and they loved him. His caring personality, kind disposition, and willingness to help anyone made him one of a kind. When John was not lending a hand, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, spending time with his fellow veterans at the Post 19 Veterans’ Club, and the Irish American Club.
John was the beloved husband of Linda (Orseno) Keane. He was the devoted father of Kimberly DeRosa, and her husband Salvatore, and Kerri Keane. He was the loving Pappy of Rachael DeRosa and Daniel DeRosa. He was the dear brother of Denis Keane and the late Anne Goggin, and Kevin Keane.
Family and friends are invited to visit with John’s family at the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Thursday, October 17th, from 4 PM to 7 PM. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, at 10 AM. (Please go directly to church on Friday morning) Interment will be private.
