Ann Marie O’Brien, a lifelong resident of Brockton, MA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at the age of 103.
Ann was predeceased by her parents T. Frank O’Brien and Ida C. (Lamothe) O’Brien, siblings Francis L. O’Brien and Dr. David C. O’Brien and her special Aunt Nora Welts who helped raise Ann from age twelve after her mother’s death.
She leaves behind her cherished Ryder Family cousins in Wisconsin, her dear friend David Burwell of Brockton, Tina Ebrahimian of California, and Paula and Cary Snow of Brockton (caregivers).
A graduate of Bridgewater State College, Ann enjoyed a fulfilling career as a teacher at West Junior High School in Brockton for over 35 years. Her passion for education and her dedication to her students will always be remembered by those she taught.
Ann was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church where she was deeply involved in parish activities. She was also a devoted supporter of The Father Peyton Center at Stonehill College.
Ann loved traveling and she especially enjoyed trips to Ireland, the Holy Land and vacations at the Cape.
Visitation will be held at the Conley Funeral Home,138 Belmont Street (rte. 123), Brockton on Thursday October 24, 2024 from 9:30 to 10:30am followed by a Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 11am. Burial at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Marlboro.
