Obituary

CASCO-Donald Fulton Gammon Sr., age 72, known affectionately as “pops”, passed away on October 13, 2024, with his daughter LeAnn and his friend Doris by his side. Donald was born on February 1, 1952, in Limington, Maine. He spent most of his life in the Gorham and Casco areas. Donald was a devoted father to LeAnn, Don, and his daughter-in-law Rachel, and a loving grandfather to his cherished grandchildren- Maya, Garrett, and Maxim. He was a proud graduate of Bonny Eagle High School, Donald dedicated many years of his life to serving as a custodian for Maine SAD #57. He was known for his trademark flannel shirts, jeans, and hats. He embodied a warm and approachable spirit that endeared him to all who knew him. Donald had a passion for local fairs, where he delighted in watching his children participate in 4-H programs and Ox pulling events. He enjoyed raising oxen to showcase at the fairs, a hobby that brought him great joy. He also loved spending time at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway with his daughter and Ethan, sharing moments filled with excitement and laughter. In addition to his love for family, Donald had a deep appreciation for good food, particularly fried clams, peanut butter fudge, and any chocolate confection. He enjoyed listening to a couple of local bands: Got It Covered, and Country Roads and watching his favorite shows and reruns of The Beverly Hillbillies, The Three Stooges, and Bonanza. He was a fan of Little House on the Prairie, which he recently purchased. Donald is predeceased by his spouse Carolyn Miller Gammon, his brother Ron Gammon, and his parents Fulton and Carolyn Dearborn Gammon. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
