Obituary

SCARBOROUGH- Alfred “Al” Guy Piscopo, age 96, passed away October 10, 2024, peacefully, surrounded by family.
Al was born on November 12, 1927, at Maine General Hospital, Portland Maine, a son of the late Antoinette (Cereste) and Michael Piscopo. He grew up in Portland on Federal Street graduating from Portland High in the class of 1946. After graduating he served proudly in both the Army and the Navy before starting a career in retail sales and then restaurant management.
On October 15, 1955, he married Jeanne Louis Olsen and raised their family in South Portland. On November 25, 1990, he married Michelina Colletto and spent their time between Scarborough and Marco Island, Fla. Al was a proud member of the Elks and Eagles for many years.
One of his dearest passions was making his famous Italian sauce and pizza on Sundays feeding anyone who stopped by. Al was fondly referred to by all his grandkids and great grandkids as “Papa”.
Al is predeceased by his parents, Antoinette and Michael Piscopo, brothers John, Carmine (Jack), wife Jeanne and wife Michelina.
Al is survived by his children - Gari Piscopo, his wife Missi of Cape Elizabeth, Michael Piscopo, his wife Joy of Heath, Texas, Sandra Piscopo of South Portland and Brenda O’Brien of Oro Valley, Arizona. He has seven wonderful grandchildren – Michael, Aaron, Caroline, Kyle, Prezli, Shelly and Teresa and seven great grandchildren whom he was very proud of.
A heart felt special thanks to the staff at Maine Medical Center and Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.
