John Jacob Hoover, 53, of Litchfield, NH, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024, in his home surrounded by loved ones after a battle with cancer. He was born on June 17, 1971, in Lancaster, PA, a son of Amos and Wanda Hoover, and had been a resident of Litchfield for the past 15 years, formerly living in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
John served with InFaith in New England for 15 years, faithfully ministering in local nursing homes, bringing the love and light of the gospel to the elderly. John was passionate about mentoring the younger generation, sharing life and many hours over breakfast diving into the Word of God with younger men. John loved his wife and three girls beautifully and was a wonderful husband and father. He was full of joy, energy, and life. He brought laughter and silliness to all. He never met a stranger and was an incredible listener and encourager. He enjoyed being active and spending time outdoors with his family and friends and never passed up a good ice cream shop. Above all, John loved Jesus and lived to bring glory to Him.
John is survived by his loving wife of 27 years Kathy Hoover; three daughters, Olivia, Allison, and Callie Hoover; four brothers, Joel Hoover, Ernest Hoover, Nathaniel Hoover, and Dwight Hoover; three sisters, Marsha Feathers, Phyllis Clark, and Virginia Hoover.
A private graveside service for John will be held on Saturday, October 19th at Hillcrest Cemetery in Litchfield, NH. Following the burial, all are welcome to attend a memorial service that will be held at Calvary Bible Church, 145 Hampstead Rd, Derry, NH 03038 at 11:00am with lunch and visiting to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Voice of the Martyrs (at www.persecution.com), an organization close to John’s heart, as he prayed regularly for our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ around the world.
