Barbara (David) Shea, age 93, passed away on October 4, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 18, 1931 in Keene, NH, daughter of the late Francis D. David and Hazel (Beauregard) David. Barbara was a communicant of Mary Mother of Hope Parish. She worked at Stiegers Department Store for many years before she retired. After retirement, Barbara moved to Lady Lake, FL and spent many happy years there before she moved back to Chicopee around 2009 to be closer to family. She loved to cook, was talented at sewing and quilting and was an avid Red Sox fan. She is predeceased by her husband Michael Shea who passed away in 2020. She is also predeceased by her daughter Kathleen Shea and two brothers, Paul David and Robert “Bob” David. She is survived by two sons, Michael Shea of Chicopee and Timothy Shea of North Port, FL; one daughter, Susan Ladue and her husband David of Chicopee; one sister, Ruth “Peanut” Forest of NH; four grandchildren, Sean, Matthew, Michael and his wife Ceara and Nathan and his wife Katelyn along with three great grandchildren, Colin, Gavin and Noah. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly. Calling hours will be held on the morning of the funeral, Friday, Oct. 11, 2024 from 8:00 – 10:00 AM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Mary Mother of Hope Church at 10:30 AM.
