Patrick S. Goddard (affectionately known as “Mr. P”) was born on March 17th, 1941, on the beautiful island of St. James, Trinidad and Tobago to the late Simeon Goddard and Vivienne Mahabir. Mr. P was 1 of 13 siblings and was loved and respected by them all. Mr. P passed on October 1, 2024, in Boston MA surrounded by his beloved family.
Mr. P was raised by his Godmother, the late Doris Roberts of St. James Trinidad and Tobago. His Godmother introduced him to the Nazarene Church where he developed childhood friendships and the love of playing Cricket.
After graduating from Tranquility school in Port of Spain Trinidad and Tobago where he pursued the skill of welding and machinery operations. Mr. P was able to pursue a career with many opportunities to work throughout Trinidad and Tobago.
Mr. P met his wife while working as a machinist foreman and instantly knew she was to be his wife. Mr. P married spouse Cynthia Hazzard on December 31,1967 at Rosery Catholic Church in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago surrounded by family and friends. Mr. P was married to his beloved wife for 57 beautiful years and had 3 children, a daughter, twin boys and then blessed with 2 amazing grandchildren.
In 1969 Mr. P migrated with his wife and young daughter to New York City, before settling in Boston MA.
Mr. P worked as an Operations Agent in the tower for USAir, now known as American Airlines for over 25 years before retiring on. Mr. P was well loved by many of his coworkers and other employees at Boston International Airport. On his birthday, March 17th, his coworkers enjoyed celebrating with him. Mr. P daily happy smiling face and kind words made the day brighter, and better for all he came in contact.
Mr. P enjoyed planning summer trips with his wife and children, and always made certain to include his late mother-in-law, Sylvia Hazzard. Mr. P was an amazing cook, and love using his creative talents for holiday meals. Mr. P’s love for all genres of music, created a home filled with whistling, singing, and dancing. Mr. P had a weekly schedule that he followed when playing steel pan and gospel music. Mr. P played his gospel music all day on Saturdays and till 3pm on Sundays, before getting lost in the sounds of steel pan music.
Remaining to cherish Mr. P’s memory are spouse; Cynthia Goddard, Children; Deborah Ann Alexander, late Patrick R. Goddard, and Tyrone S. Goddard, grandchildren; DeJon M. Alexander, and Tyliyah S. Goddard, remaining to cherish his sisters Sandra Phillips, Linda Irvin, Claudette Goddard, Carol Goddard, sister-in-law June John, sister-in-law Ruby Walker, Yvonne Hazzard and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Mr. P in death parents; the late Simeon Goddard and the late Vivienne Mahabir, godmother; the late Doris Roberts, brothers; the late Rudy Goddard, the late Larry Mahabir, the late Simeon Goddard, the late Ashton Goddard, sisters the late Katherine Alleyne, the late Lela Mahabir, father-in-law the late Adolphus Hazzard, mother-in-law Sylvia Hazzard, brother-in-law the late Richard Hazzard, the late Selwyn Hazzard, the late Ronald Hazzard, and the late Robert Hazzard.
Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing hour on Thursday October 17, 2024 from 9-10 AM followed by a Religious Service from 10-10:30 AM with Reverend Brian Clary officiating in the Joseph Russo Funeral Home, 814 American Legion Highway, Roslindale, MA. Burial will be private.
