Obituary

Mary F. (Ducey) Lampasona, 74, of Franklin, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family Thursday October 3, 2024 at Milford Regional Medical Center following an illness. She was the beloved wife of Patrick F. "Pat" Lampasona, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage.

Mary moved to Franklin as a senior in high school and graduated from Franklin High School in 1967. She met the love of her life, Pat, by chance in downtown Franklin in December 1967. The two raised their four children, PJ, Pam, Paula, and Maria in Franklin and in St. Mary’s Parish, where Mary was a CCD teacher.

Mary was a hardworking woman, first by making lifelong friends by working at the Union Cafe, and then by working as the office manager for Lampasona Concrete. Everyone in the company looked up to Mary as if she was their mother, too.

Family was everything to Mary, especially her six grandchildren, who affectionately called her their Nana, a name that was adopted by many others who loved Mary and felt her warmth. No holiday would be complete without Nana’s manicotti and meatballs, and of course her pizzelles. She picked out the best greeting cards, she gave the most thoughtful presents, and she was always bustling around graciously hosting all who came to Nana’s kitchen. She remembered every birthday, every anniversary, and every phone number. She attended countless hockey games, bundled up because she hated to be cold, and when she wasn’t doting on her grandchildren, Mary likely could be found cuddled up next to Pat while he watched the Red Sox and she did her crossword puzzles in pen.

She is predeceased by her parents, Kevin and Frances Ducey, her loving daughter, Paula Iannuzzi, her brothers Kevin and Jimmy Ducey, her brother-in-law Tony Lampasona Sr., her nephew Todd Lampasona, and her niece Susan Phillips. She is survived by her husband, Pat Lampasona, her children, PJ Lampasona, Pam Raskow and her husband Jonathan, Maria Lampasona and her husband Gabriel Macias, and her son-in-law, Dan Iannuzzi. She also is survived by her sister, Susan Phillips and her husband Ken, her brother Dan Ducey, her grandchildren Domenic, Anthony, and Mia Lampasona, and Carmine, Nina, and Franco Iannuzzi, her brother-in-law Bill Lampasona and his wife Lori, her sisters-in-law Jeanne Lampasona and Lynn Hetzel, her nephews Tony, Ryan, Billy, and Nick Lampasona and Ken and George Phillips, and many great-nephews and nieces from both the Lampasona and Phillips’ families.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Wednesday October 9th, at 9AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Franklin at 10AM.

Burial will follow at the parish cemetery.

Calling hours are Tuesday October 8th from 3-7PM.
