ALTON BAY ---- It is with great sadness that the family of Paula St. George announces her passing. Paula St. George, aged 75, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024 unexpectedly at a local hospital surrounded by her loved ones. Born on August 21, 1949, Paula’s life was characterized by her energetic spirit, humor, and a profound love for all those around her.
As the eldest daughter of 16 children, Paula naturally took on the role of a devoted caretaker at an early age, loving and supporting all those around her. Always interested in providing for others, Paula returned to school to become a Registered Nurse later in life, a role she embraced with great passion and dedication. Paula graduated from the New Hampshire Institute of Technology with an Associate’s Degree in nursing (ADN) in 1995, where she then worked for many years in different settings before finding her passion in Geriatric/long term care. Paula’s career was marked by many years of providing empathetic care, greatly improving the lives of those around her through humor and generosity. Paula inspired those around her to love a little harder and laugh a little more.
Paula was a vibrant and kindhearted individual who cherished animals and nature. Throughout the years, she and her beloved husband Leo camped seasonally among different places in New England. Paula enjoyed being out on the trails and sitting around the campfire with family. Her hobbies also included gardening, crafting, and crocheting. Paula and her husband Leo shared many joyful moments with their numerous pets over the years, also introducing them to camping. Paula treated all her pets like they were her children, surrounding them with immense love and dedication. All who knew Paula will remember her love of the outdoors and animals.
Paula leaves behind her beloved husband of 57 years, Leo St. George, and their three children, Brian St. George, Marc St. George, and Michele St. George, as well as her daughter-in-law Jen St. George. Paula is also survived by her six grandchildren: Damien St. George, Jeremy St. George, Alisha St. George, Justin St. George, Erika Schofield, and Emaly Schofield, as well as several great-grandchildren. Paula is predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Jennifer St. George, who she loved fondly.
Paula's legacy of love, care, humor, and compassion will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by all who knew her. She was a beloved mother, wife, grandmother, and friend. Paula will live on in the memory of all those who loved and were impacted by her.
