Obituary for Alice “Lisl” Terner
October 4, 1925 – September 15, 2024
Alice Lisl Terner, known lovingly as Lisl, of Valley Cottage, New York, passed away peacefully at the age of 98 on September 15, 2024. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hugo Terner; her son, Steven Terner; her sister, Gerti (Trudie) Kern; and brother-in-law, Arthur Kern.
Lisl is survived by her son, Ron Terner, and daughter-in-law, Alice Terner. Her grandchildren, Daniel (Stacy) Terner, Sharon (Brian) Gilbert, Rajeev (Lisa) Terner, and Ruby Rios Terner, will forever cherish her memory. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Zoe, Lila, David, Griffin, Hannah, Henry, and Hudson, who brought immense joy to her life.
She also leaves behind her brother, Thomas Kellogg (Evelyn), and the family of her late sister, Gerti: Aaron (Leslie), David (Nena), and Daniel (Elise) Kern, along with their children Rachel, Shira Lammers (Justin), Alejandro, Samantha Montegue (Justin), and great-grandnephews AJ and Cash Kern.
Lisl was known for her deep love of family and friends, as well as her many hobbies, including lapidary, cooking, needlepoint, and knitting. She will be remembered for her deep devotion to family, her kindness, and the many lives she enriched.
