DALIA J. SCIUKA 1949-2024

Of Dorchester, passed away on September 24th in her home. daughter of the late Adolfas and Ona Sciuka. Dalia is survived by her sister Valentina and her husband Gintaras Cepas, niece Rasa Cepas Rich and her husband Walter and great niece Alandra Rich. She also had a nephew Petras Cepas (deceased).

Dalia was born in Germany after her parents fled Lithuania because of the war. The family came to the US in 1949 to reside in South Boston and Dorchester. Dalia graduated from girls Latin School and Boston’s art college. Being artistically talented she worked as a window dresser for retail stores, a model for a modeling agency. She enjoyed painting, crafting, gourmet cooking, gardening, and camping. She was also Dad’s apprentice for maintenance of their house. She also worked as a legal and hospital patient’s translator for non-English speaking persons. She participated in local politics and in rallying for Lithuania regaining its independence.

We will be eternally grateful for her many years of devotion and caregiving to her bed ridden parents.

A visitation will take place in St. Peter Lithuanian Church, Saturday October 5 from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m.. Followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m.
