LACONIA ---- Arlene “Jo” Mae O’Hara, 77, of Taylor Street, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024, at Concord Hospital – Concord.
Arlene was born on October 27, 1946, in Gorham, NH, the daughter of the late Arthur Leeman and Beverly (Rowe) Howard.
Arlene, or Jo to her closest family and friends, was the kind of person who would invite you in for a cup of coffee and a great conversation. She was a caring woman who loved with her whole heart and enjoyed being surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved people and always had a smile on her face. She loved to knit Christmas socks for each new family member, soap operas, and watch game shows with her friends, often yelling out the answers even though they couldn’t hear her.
Arlene is survived by her sons Shannon O’Hara and his wife Amy, Richard O’Hara and his wife Lisa, and Adam O’Hara and his wife Donna; daughters Nena Legassie and her husband Richard and Heidi O’Hara; brother Freeman Howard, Jr., grandchildren Chelsea, Brandon, Shanan, Travis, Kayla, Destiny, Zach, Mikey and Noah; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Arlene is predeceased by her husband John O’Hara; son Bruce O’Hara; sisters Jean Roy and Judy Theberge; brother Micheal Howard; and step-father Freeman Howard Sr.
She was loved by many and will be missed dearly.
Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 from 5:00pm-7:00pm in the Carriage House at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at 7:00pm, also at the funeral home.
A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 10:00am at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH.
