Raymond Raoul Morin, 87, of Sandown, NH passed away on October 2, 2024, at Derry Rehabilitation and Health, after a period of declining health. Ray was born September 6, 1937, in Nashua, NH and was a son of the late Raymond and Andrea (Rodier) Morin. He was raised and educated in Nashua and was a 1955 graduate of Nashua High School, where he was a 4 -year member of the Marching Band. Ray has resided in several communities in NH including Amherst, Manchester, Nashua, Hudson and Sandown.
Ray was employed for over 50 years as an Automotive Technician. He was employed by several auto dealerships, repair shops and held the distinction of being the first civilian mechanic to be employed by the Manchester Police Department.
While living in Amherst, Ray was a Scout Master, President of the Amherst Junior Chamber of Commerce and a member of the volunteer fire department. He spent close to 20 years as a baseball coach in various leagues and communities. In 1967he built a race car for the 24 hours of Daytona. He was a frequent traveler on Carnival Cruises and was an avid fan of all the New England sports teams.
Raymond is survived by his three daughters, Barbara LaFlamme and her husband Stephen LaFlamme, Pamela Crooker and her husband David Crooker and Bridget Gray and her husband John Gray, his three sons, Christopher Morin and his wife Lisa Morin, Scott Morin and his fiancée Jessica Fowler, and Anthony Morin and his wife Crystal Morin, 21 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Raymond was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife of 31 years, Diana (Gagnon) Morin in 1991.
After cremation, a visitation will be held Thursday October 24, 2024, from 5 to 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium 15 Birch Street Derry, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to: Manchester Little League, PO Box 4027, Manchester, NH 03108.
