Margie (Maxey) Knotts
July 4, 1931- September 30, 2024

Margie (Maxey) Knotts, 93, of Anderson passed away on September 30, 2024 at Bethany Pointe Health Campus following an extended illness.

She was born on July 4, 1931 in Huntingburg, IN to Thomas Earl and Anna Louise (Sunderman) Stapleton.

She worked at First Savings and Loan as a data processer. Following her retirement she worked for Edward Jones for 12 years.

She was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, bird watching, gardening and flowers.

A special thanks to Mary Chamberlain and her team of caregivers at Legacy Lane for all of their compassionate care and support.

She is survived by her daughter, Dianna (Russ) Campbell of Anderson; a daughter-in-law, Doris Maxey of Anderson;3 grandchildren, Russ (Julie) Campbell II, Ryan Campbell, and Kelly (Kerry) Bowles; seven great-grandchildren, Alyssa (Jacob) Huff, Emma (Ryan) Campbell, Nikki (Justin) Morris, Trey Campbell, Kenedi Campbell, Faith Boyce and Brooke Boyce; a great-great granddaughter, Campbell Ann “Cami” Huff; a brother, Marvin (Betty) Stapleton of Huntingburg, IN; three step-grandchildren, Trent (Shawn) Swindell, Tyler (Trish) Swindell, and Troy (Angie) Swindell; five step great- grandchildren; several step great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Merrel Maxey and her second husband, Duane Knotts; a son, Dennis Maxey; a grandson, Kevin Maxey; and a brother, Raymond Stapleton.

A graveside service will be at 2:30pm on Friday, October 4, 2024 at East Maplewood Cemetery with Pastor Doug Stein officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Animal Protection League.
