Charles R. “Chuck” James

Charles R. “Chuck” James, 96, passed away September 30, 2024 at Sugar Fork Crossing.
He was born November 19, 1927 in Anderson, the only child of Ora B. and Mary (Christiansen) James. Chuck was a graduate of Anderson High School, attended Purdue University and graduated from Ball State University. He served his country in the US Army.
Chuck worked at Howe Fire Apparatus for many years. He was a sports enthusiast, who participated and excelled in many different sports. He was a former member of Edgewood and Anderson Country Clubs, University Club and the Anderson Elks Club. Chuck loved to socialize with friends and family and always enjoyed conversation and “Happy Hour” before a meal.
Chuck is survived by his children; Greg (Lynda) James, Julie Lange, Dan (Colleen) James; grandchildren, Matt Lange, Samantha Hostetler, Erica Sharon, Hayley James, Logan James; great grandchildren, Ace Hostetler, Haven Hostler, Brooks Sharon, Charlie Lange, Emmett Sharon, and Grace Lange; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Glen and Judy Ohmit.
He was preceded in death on August 8, 2023, by his wife of 72 years, Virginia O. “Ginny” James.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024 at 2 PM at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service. Burial at East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to First Presbyterian Church of Anderson or East Central Indiana Youth Serving Christ.
