Beverly A. Hancock, wife of the late Thomas P. Hancock, passed away on September 29, 2024, with family by her side. Beverly was born on December 10, 1936, to George and Doris (Harwood) Kent. Beverly is survived by her daughter Deby Smith and spouse Dave of Leesburg, Florida, son Dwayne Hancock and spouse Cheryl of Wrentham, Mass., grandsons Colin Smith of Orlando, Florida, Sam and Jack Hancock of Wrentham, Mass., and by her brother Edward Kent and spouse Patricia of Dartmouth, Mass.
Tom and Bev celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary in March of 2024. They enjoyed their family visits, locally and in Florida, and were frequent visitors to Foxwoods and Twin Rivers casinos. They could reliably be found at the penny slot machines. Beverly also liked to knit and crochet.
Beverly worked at Westport Town Hall for several years. She eventually moved on to Truesdale Hospital in Fall River to work as a medical secretary. She retired in 1997 after many years as the medical office manager for the practice of Dr. Ira Rex of Fall River.
Service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, October 7, 2024 at the Potter Funeral Home, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Sunday from 5-8 P.M.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
