Raymond Odeen Gallagher, Jr., 79, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, September 27, 2024, at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Georgia.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Gallagher was born February 17, 1945, in Cadnam, England, to the late Raymond & Evelyn Green Gallagher. He was a graduate of Rosendale High School in Rosendale, New York. He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Gallagher attended college at New Paltz College and Ulster Community College, both in New York State. He worked in sales and retired as a manager for Iron Mountain. He loved the Marines and enjoyed his time serving. He was Commander of the Marine Corps League, Kingston Chapter. He also enjoyed genealogy and was active in the Charlotte County Genealogy Society during the 21 years he lived in Punta Gorda, Florida. Mr. Gallagher was a skilled woodworker who could build most anything.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kim Parker Gallagher of Fitzgerald; a brother, Robert & Laurie Gallagher of High Falls, New York; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Liz Lynch and a brother, Henry Gallagher.
