WORCESTER___Jose M. “Chino” Santiago, 34, passed away on Sunday September 15, 2024. Chino leaves his daughter, Dasani Santiago, a sister, Amanda Santiago, a brother, Nathaniel Santiago, his father, Jose Otero, his maternal grandmother, Asunción Oropeza, his paternal grandparents, Ana Maria Guerrero and Ausberto Garcia, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins including Jennifer “Auntie” Rosado and Shakiria Rodriguez. He born in Worcester and was predeceased by his mother, Caridad Santiago.
Chino had worked in housekeeping for private residences in New York City. He was also skilled at braiding hair and enjoyed doing brows.
Chino enjoyed the competition of sports with family and friends. He was always eager to win so that he could engage in friendly banter. Since childhood, Chino loved baseball and enjoyed games of basketball with siblings, nieces/nephews, as well as fishing. At the core of the hobbies he enjoyed, was his love of family and being able to engage in hobbies with them. Family was valued the most in his life. Chino will be truly missed by all who had the privilege to know and love him.
The funeral will be held on Monday September 30, 2024 at 11:30 AM in DIRSA – MORIN FUNERAL HOME. 298 Grafton St. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Monday September 30, 2024 from 10:00 to 11:30 AM before the service in the funeral home.
