SANFORD – Beatrice Jeannette (Roux) Bacon, age 71, passed away on September 25, 2024 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House with her loving family by her side after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer.
Beatrice (Bea) was born in Sanford, Maine on June 19, 1953 daughter of Eddie Roux and Jeanne Mary Ann (Roy) Roux. She graduated from Sanford High School in 1971 and in 1974 married her beloved husband of 49 years, Maurice Bacon. She was a dedicated worker and friend to all wherever she worked and she ended her working career retiring from National Semi-Conducter in South Portland.
Bea was a faithful daughter and sister, a dedicated wife and mother. She appreciated being part of a large extended family and was equally blessed by her family through marriage. She loved spoiling her grandchildren and spending time with family and friends. Camping was a favorite hobby as well as going on special weekend getaways with her sister. She loved thrift stores, bargain hunting and was known for her love of palm trees. Some of her favorite activities were backyard barbecues and family gatherings. She attended New Life Church in Biddeford. She lived a simple, yet fulfilling life anchored by love. Bea will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Beatrice is survived by her devoted husband, Maurice Bacon of Sanford; cherished daughter, Krystal Louder and her husband Curtis of Millersburg, PA; adored grandchildren, Malachi and Camden Louder of Pennsylvania; and loving sister, Dolly Glassey of Queens, NY.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 5 at 11:00 AM at New Life Church, 551 Alfred Road in Biddeford.
