Micheline L. (Laramee) Johnson, 81, of Walpole, died Monday, September 23, 2024 at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was the beloved wife of the late Ian H. Johnson, of Walpole, who died in 2014.
Born in St. Hyacinthe, Quebec, Canada on September 9, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Omer and Maria (Desrosiers) Laramee.
Mrs. Johnson had been a resident of Walpole since 1971 and was a homemaker for most of her life. She grew up in Canada and came to the United States at the age of 18. Earning her United States citizenship and learning how to speak the English language were two of Micheline’s proudest achievements.
She worked as a house cleaner, home care aid, and personal companion for many of the elderly in the Walpole and Norwood areas prior to her retirement.
Mrs. Johnson enjoyed taking her daily walks in and around her neighborhood, completing puzzle books, playing backgammon, marble games, and cards. She also always enjoyed and treasured her time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her son Eric Johnson of Walpole, her daughter Nicole Crowley and her husband David of Wilmington, and three grandchildren, Justin, Liam, and Samantha Crowley of Wilmington.
She is also survived by her siblings Therese, Rachel, Gerard, Clement, Jacques, and Ginette, and many nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
