Kathleen A. Cavanaugh
Longtime Tewksbury Resident
Kathleen A. “Katie” (Bardet) Cavanaugh, age 74, a resident of Tewksbury for 55 years, passed away at Lowell General Hospital on Sunday, September 22, 2024, following a hard-fought battle with cancer.
She was the beloved wife of Thomas F. Cavanaugh, with whom she celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on April 1, 2024.
Born in Patterson, New Jersey on October 27, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Rose (Eagleson) Bardet.
Katie was raised in Union City and Jersey City areas of New Jersey and attended local schools.
In 1969, Katie moved to Tewksbury, where she and her husband raised their three daughters.
Katie devoted her life to her family and was a proud stay at home mother. She did work for several years for the former Blanchard Bus Company in Tewksbury and for Wang Industries in Lowell.
She enjoyed ceramics, the companionship of her dogs, and traveling to Disney World with her husband and daughters.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Gail Cavanaugh, of Tewksbury, Kelly Maloney and her husband Gerald, of Belchertown, and Sharon Cavanaugh, of Tewksbury: her grandchildren, Cassidy Taylor McAuliffe, Kaitlin Rooney and her husband Joseph, Connor Maloney and his wife Hannah, Aedan Maloney and his fiancé Emily Henderson, Kavan Maloney, Brendan Maloney, Shawna Scialdone, Shane Scialdone, and Shea Scialdone: her great grandchildren, Francis Rooney, Anastasia Rooney, and Raphael Rooney. She was the sister of Patrick Bardet and his wife Penny and Michael Bardet, all of Bayonne, NJ, John Pettrow, of Keansburg, NJ. Katie was pre-deceased by four brothers and one sister.
Katie leaves many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
