Obituary




Virginia A. (Salamone) Nutile, of Medford, formerly of Somerville and Boston’s West End, passed away on Tuesday, September 24th, she was 88. Born and raised in Boston’s West End, she was the cherished daughter of the late Dominic and Asunta (Mangone) Salamone.

Virginia enjoyed walking everywhere and became friends with everyone she met on her daily trips. She loved spending time with her family, especially on the holiday’s where they would enjoy her homemade stuffed calamari and pizza gaina. When she was not out and about on her daily walks, she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Virginia’s family were her pride and joy. She will be greatly missed.

Virginia was the devoted mother of John Nutile of Medford, Angela Kane and her husband John of Stoughton, and the late Robert Nutile and his surviving wife Terri. She was the loving “Grandma Gege” of Lisa Connell, Stephen Nutile, Jack Kane and Patrick Kane. She was the caring great grandmother of Brennan and Carsyn Connell. Virginia is also survived by many loving sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service for Virginia will be held at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Monday, September 30th at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday, September 29th from 4 to 7 PM.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Virginia’s name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorials Processing, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959. Interment is private.
