Jo Ann Hand McHolland passed away peacefully at her residence in Crisp County on September 23, 2024. She was surrounded by her loving husband and family. A graveside funeral service will be held for Ms. McHolland at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Oakey Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Berrien County, where she will be laid to rest. The Rev. Steve Davis will officiate.
Born in Berrien County on September 12, 1940, she was a long-time resident of Berrien and Tift Counties, and she was currently residing at Fellowship Cordelia Manor in Cordele, Georgia.
Affectionally known to her friends and family as "JoJo," she was a long-time employee of and retired from the Tift County School System. She was a member of Brookfield Baptist Church in Brookfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Lee and Aubrey Hand; her two sisters, Sara Hand Coarsey and Betty Jean Hand Burnum (Maurice); her brother, Darrell Hand; her daughter, Paula Hendley Clark; a grandson, Jim Clark; and her stepson, Scott McHolland.
She is survived by her husband, Joe McHolland; her daughter, Lisa Hendley Divine (Doug) of Lake Blackshear; her son, Phil Hendley of Berrien County; her stepdaughters, Jennifer Ratledge (John) of Charlotte, North Carolina and Teresa West (Andy) of Anderson, South Carolina; and her aunt, Faye Bailey of Sylvester.
She has eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of Fellowship Cordelia Manor for their love and care of JoJo over the last several months.
