WELLS- Richard R Ham, age 81, passed away on September 20, 2024, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House after a yearlong battle with esophageal cancer.
Richard was born in Rochester, NH on April 27, 1943, a son of the late Frank Ham.
He grew up in Gonic, NH and graduated from Spaulding High School.
He married Deborah Lord in 1965. They were together for nearly 60 years.
Richard served his country in the Navy Seabees during the Vietnam War from 1966 - 1968. After his military service, he worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for 25 years. After he retired, he worked for Advance Auto for 25 years.
He is predeceased by his uncle and aunt, Charles and Alice Mitchell; a brother Robert and a sister Barbara.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Deborah; son Scott, daughters Dianna, Jennifer (Ham) Barbour and her husband Thomas. 5 grandchildren- Beth, Heather, Jackson, Haley and Robey. 3 great grandchildren; Alexis, Brayden and Callie.
A funeral service with US Navy Honors will be held on Sunday September 29, at 2 pm at the Chad E Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt. 22) in Buxton.
