Thomas J. Keough of Brighton, formerly of Jamaica Plain, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 22, 2024. Beloved husband of the late Doris (Carney) Keough. Devoted father of Thomas “Tom” J. Keough, Jr. and his wife Nelly of Brighton and the late Carolyn “Carrie” Shea. Loving grandfather of Victoria and great grandfather of Gracie.
Thomas was raised in Jamaica Plain where he attended parochial schools and graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School.
He was a Korean War Era Veteran, having enlisted in the United States Air Force. He obtained the rank of Sergeant and was Honorably discharged after three years of service.
After his time in the service, he worked for the Western Waterproofing Company which eventually became Chapman Waterproofing Company. He started as a bookkeeper and retired as the treasurer after a 40-year career.
He spent his retirement in Carver as well as the Dedham and Norwood areas. His wry sense of humor and love for his family will be deeply missed by his loving family and all who knew him.
Visiting in the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St., West Roxbury, on Friday, September 27th from 10:00am to 11:00am. Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Theresa Church at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment Forest Hills Cemetery, Jamaica Plain.
