Bruce Allen Boerner, 76 of Anderson died September 22, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Bruce was born March 6, 1948 in Anderson the son of Leonard L. and Thelma L. (Chaney) Boerner.
He was employed at Anderson Municipal Light and Power for 45 years before retiring as Superintendent in January of 2012. He loved his job and did it well and was respected by many. He loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy (Bolt) Boerner whom he married September 2, 1967; his children, Stacy L. (Dale) Johnson, Jason T. (Alison) Boerner; grandchildren, Levi (Erica) Johnson, Madison Johnson, Hannah (fiancé Matt Ewing) Boerner, Abby Boerner; great granddaughter, Davis Jo Johnson; sister, Sharon Reed; special friend, Dick Abston; brother-in-law, Jeff (Kim) Bolt; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his special friend, Lanny Gaines.
A Celebration of Life will be Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 5 to 7:30 P.M. at Gray's Park; 2867 North 100 West; Anderson, IN 46011.
Memorial contributions may be given to Animal Protection League, 613 Dewey Street; Anderson, IN 46016.
