It is with profound sadness that the parents of Michael Armand Borges announce his passing into the hands of the Lord on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. He was the son of Richard E. and Bernadette L. (Botelho) Borges of Westport.
Michael was born in Fall River and had resided there for most of his life.
He was a licensed substance abuse clinician and worked for High Point Treatment Center in New Bedford and earlier at SSTAR in Fall River. Michael's early education in his field was at Trundy Institute in New Bedford and then at Bristol Community College where he earned his Associate's Degree. He was highly thought of in his profession and received numerous accolades for his dedication in helping others. Michael was extremely well liked by both staff and clients.
Michael loved his home and maintained beautiful gardens where his beloved cats roamed. He loved jet skiing in the Westport River and Narragansett Bay. In his younger years he was a talented dirt bike rider.
Survivors along with his parents include his brother: David R. Borges and his wife Betheny of Westport; his sister: Kristin L. Borges of Westport; 2 nephews: Matthew and Ryan Borges; his companion: Kassaundra Fisher; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Michael was deeply loved and respected.
Private services were held.
