James Dale Garner, 59, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, September 22, 2024, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with Brother Randall Smith and the Rev. Logan Walker officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Georgia. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Dale was born August 23, 1965, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Thomas Carlton & Mary Alice Garner. He had a very successful career for 25 years as a Spinning Technician at Shaw Industries. He lived a simple life that was spent hunting, fishing and spending time with his family, friends, and his favorite buddy, Boss Man.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sue Garner; a son, Michael “Doodle” Burnham & Malarie of Fitzgerald; a daughter, Jessica Burnham & Ron of Douglas; grandchildren: Briana Burnham & Tyler, Hailey Rodriguez & Kathy, Zackary Burnham, Lexie Burnham Gallagher & R.J.; a great-granddaughter, Penelope Burnham Gallagher; siblings: Dianne Jacobs, Susan Westberry, Cathy Bowman and John Alan Garner; a sister-in-law, Barbara Garner and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Garner; a sister, Vicki Smith and brothers-in-law: Halbert Westberry and Charles Smith.
