Late husband of Joanne (Spinney). Loving father of Jacqueline “Jacqui” McKinnies and her husband Mike of Roslindale, and Joseph Hertello and his wife Jennie of Lowell. Dear “POP” to Andrew and his partner Brianne of South Boston, Tori and her fiancé Tommy of Roslindale, Christopher of Roslindale, Violet and Joey of Lowell. Loving brother of Maryellen and her husband Chuck of Baltimore, William and his wife Paula of Canton, and the late Edward of Jamaica Plain. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Joe was well known for his work in the printing industry and loved the work he did with his father and brothers, who were also in the industry. Joe loved trips to the casino or the racetrack and loved fishing when he could, but his favorite thing was to brag about his grandchildren.
Visiting hour at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St. West Roxbury on Tuesday, September 24th at 10am followed by a prayer service at 11am.
