Ann “Nancy” (O’Rourke) Morrissey of Franklin formerly of West Roxbury passed away on September 20, 2024, surrounded by family. She was the beloved wife for 58 years to the late William M. Morrissey Sr (Retired BPD). Loving mother to William M. Morrissey Jr (SFD) and his wife Mary, Susan of Wrentham, James (BPD) and his wife Julie of Franklin. Devoted Nana to James C, Michael, Lindsey, Ryan and Brianna. Loving GiGi Ma to James C Jr. Sister of Leo O’Rourke and his wife Cathy. Sister-in-Law to Warren Morrissey (Retired BPD) and his late wife Mary. Nancy is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Nancy worked for many years in banking before becoming a housewife and mother. Nancy went back to work and was affectionately known as Mrs. M to the many students in the cafeteria at Catholic Memorial High School. She loved to spend her Sunday Nights at the Irish Social Club listening and dancing to her Irish music. She spent her winters at her home away from home in Vero Beach, FLA.
With her passing, she will be joining her late husband William, whom she missed dearly.
Visting hours will be held at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home 2055 Centre St West Roxbury on Wednesday, September 25th, from 4-8pm. Funeral from the funeral home on Thursday, September 26th at 9am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Theresa Church, West Roxbury at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
