Obituary

WORCESTER_______ Halina (Parzych) Stomska, 90, of Worcester, MA, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Friday, September 20, 2024, after a short illness. She was born on December 18, 1933, in Zbojna, Poland to the late Jozef and Janina Parzych (Lemanski). Halina and her husband, Marian, emigrated from Poland to the U.S. in 1966 and settled in Worcester.

Halina is survived by her husband of 68 years, Marian (Maniek) Stomski, her children, Wiesia Niedzwiecki and her husband Wiesiek of Sutton, Janina Dooley and her husband Joseph of Millbury, and Mark Stomski and his wife Lisa of Auburn. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She also leaves her sisters, Anna Brzoska of Worcester, Cecilia Forance of Oxford, Danuta Mienkowska of Poland, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her daughter Marysia, and her brother Stanislaw Parzych.

Halina worked in the cafeteria of the old St. Vincent’s hospital for 31 years until retirement. She was a devoted member of the Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish, consistently attending mass and empowering her beloved husband to serve the church in various capacities. Her priority in life was being the heart of the family. She enjoyed cooking authentic Polish dishes for family gatherings, which included the best golabki, pierogi, and apple cake. She enjoyed playing cards, visiting with friends and family, and baby-sitting her many grandchildren. Halina and Marian contributed to assisting other family members with immigrating to the U.S. through sponsorship and support. We were all so blessed to have her in our lives, and she will be greatly missed by everyone, especially by her loving husband.

The family would like to express our sincere thanks to the late Zygmont and Teresa Milewski for their help with Marian and Halina’s family’s emigration to the U.S.
