Charlene Ruth (Freeman) Wilson, 90, of Middletown, Indiana passed away Friday, September 6, 2024, at Primrose Memory Care Center in Anderson, Indiana. She was surrounded by her family.
She was born on August 5, 1934, in Muscatine, Iowa, to the late Carl and Lucille Freeman.
Charlene married her husband, Dick, August 31, 1958. She acquired her Teaching Certificate at Northern Iowa and they then moved to Anderson, Indiana to follow his career.
Charlene enjoyed being a stay-home mother, and further occupied herself with many clubs and activities: Homemaker's Club, Middletown Craft Club and Mother's Club. Charlene loved the Lord and was a member of East Side Church of God. She enjoyed Sunday school classes and singing in the choir. But above all, Charlene adored her family. She loved spending time and spoiling her five grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Charlene was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Wilson, who passed away on May 29, 2019. They had been married for 60 years.
She is survived by her children, Dave (Carole) Wilson of Middletown and Sara Wilson Martin of North Carolina; grandchildren, Ben Wilson, Lauren (Fede) Boscaini, Katie (Alex) Ritchie, Madison Martin and Kelly Martin; two great grandchildren, and an older brother, Don Freeman of Waverly, Iowa.
The family invites you to join them for visitation from 10 to 11 a.m., which will be followed by funeral services, on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at East Side Church of God with Dr. Kerry Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Miller's Cemetery in Middletown.
We would like to extend a heart felt Thank you to all the caregivers at Primrose Assisted Living and Memory Care, for the wonderful care she has received over the past five years.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, enjoy a day with your family, eating out and playing cards.
