Jon “Chris” Winsor, of Hudson, formally of Whitman, passed away in Worcester Hospital after a long battle with cancer on September 15th he was beloved husband of Brenda Durkin-Winsor.
Jon was born in Brockton MA on November 18, 1953, the son of the late Gordon and Margaret Winsor. Jon was also pre-deceased by his twin brother Jeff, his sister Patricia and his daughter Amy.
Jon attended Whitman Public Schools and graduated from Whitman Hanson Class of 1971.
John worked for Bixby International in Newburyport for 25 years as a Materials Manager.
Jon’s hobbies include his beloved fish tank, gardening, and his two dogs known as “The Girls”. Jon loved to play wiffle ball and corn hole. Jon loved camping down the Cape. Boston sports teams were his passion especially the Red Sox and Patriots
Jon’s quick wit and his attempt to always lighten the mood will be sorely missed. He loved his family especially reading to and playing with his grandchildren.
Jon is survived by his loving wife Brenda, his sister Anne, stepchildren Jennifer and Christopher and grandchildren Mikey, Millie and Tyler. Also, by cousins and many lifelong friends including his best friend Jack Buckley who was there for him at all times during his brave battle with cancer. Jon will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to attend Jon's visiting hours Monday September 23rd, from 10:00-11:00 AM with a funeral to follow at 11:00 AM at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. A burial will follow at Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman.
