Obituary

Pauline R. (Marchand) Claprood, 88, of Worcester died Wednesday, September 18th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus. Her husband of 56 years, Donald J. Claprood died in 2009. She leaves a brother, Henry Marchand and his significant other, Paula McManus of Oakham; her companion of 10 years, Primo Ventresca of Worcester; a sister-in-law Paula Marchand of Worcester; her God-daughter Michelle Ryan with whom she shared a very special bond; and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She was predeceased by two brothers, Albert and Arthur; and three sisters, Irene, Theresa, and Evelyn.

She was born in Millbury, the daughter of Albert and Eva (Dugay) Marchand. Pauline was a devout member of Christ the King Church. She will be remembered for her warm spirit, her love of family, and the joy she brought to those around her. A devoted member of her church community, she found solace and purpose in her faith.

Pauline had a passion for life’s simple pleasures – whether she was out shopping, preparing a delicious meal, savoring good food, or sharing lively stories with family and friends. Her humor, wisdom, and warmth left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Her presence will be dearly missed but her memory will live on in the stories she told and the hearts she touched.

Funeral services and burial in All Faith’s Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
