James Stanley Biggers, 93, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, September 19, 2024, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 3 PM, Saturday, September 21, 2024, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. David Biggers officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, in Fitzgerald, Georgia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Mr. Biggers was born August 29, 1931, in Warwick, Georgia, to the late Starling Marion & Effie Elizabeth Howard Biggers. He graduated in 1949 from Fitzgerald High School and served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Biggers retired from the Department of Transportation. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his son, Jerry Thompson & Christine; grandchildren: Mike Revels & Grace Rycroft, Elaine Champion & Donald, Wayne Thompson & Jenna and Ernie Thompson & Melissa; 9 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; two great-great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Jane Vaughn; a sister-in-law, Bobbie Biggers; a special caregiver, Angela Brown and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lou Belle Thompson; a daughter, Carolyn Revels; a grandson, Scott Revels and siblings: S.M. Biggers, Jr., Elizabeth Luke, Lois Forrest, Mildred Clark, William Biggers, Howard Biggers, T.E. Biggers and Gordon Biggers.
