Obituary

It is with great sadness that our family announces the unexpected passing of Wayne E. Riendeau on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, He was the son of the late Elmer and Annie (Parker) Riendeau.

Wayne leaves behind his wife Rosemarie, sons: Wayne Matthew and his wife, Emilie, Adam Brown and his wife, Kathleen, and Benjamin Joseph and his partner, Jason Cabico, grandchildren: Thomas Richard, Jack Brown, and Audrey Flora, brother, Alan and his wife Patricia, sister, Debra Souza and her husband Robert, the late Linda Brogan, who died in May, 2024 and her husband Michael, and many nieces and nephews.

After graduating from R.I.C., Wayne began his career in education at Mary V. Quirk, J.H.S. in Warren, R.I. During that time, he served honorably in the National Guard from May 1970 to December 1975. In 1987, Wayne continued his career in Lincoln, R.I., first as housemaster at Lincoln H.S. and then principal at Lincoln M.S. Wayne culminated his career as Assistant Superintendent in North Providence, R.I. in 2002.

After retirement, Wayne pursued many interests and hobbies, the most important of which were reading, golfing, traveling, and woodworking. He spent a great deal of time with his grandchildren, enjoying life through their curious eyes.

Please join us in a celebration of Wayne’s life at the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville, R.I. on September 24, 2024 from 10am to 1pm.
Please omit flowers. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Boston Children’s Hospital or St. Jude’s Hospital for Children.
