Bette lived a colorful and eclectic life FOR SURE! She raised her horses and animals along with her children on a farm in Norwell and was notorious for her innovative cooking and baking. Never been made before, never be made again, and lord knows, don’t ask what is in it! It’s good for you!
Bette was a Norwell recreation director and wrote for the Norwell mariner in the 70’s. She attended nursing school and schooling for making artificial limbs and braces. She achieved a realty certificate from Jack Conway Realtor as well as many flower shops in new England. Bette finally brough her talents to her own flower shop in Scituate mass, Precious Petals as well as a pottery shop at home. And don’t stop there.…she then started a pony business and became a clown known as Petals.
For 27 consecutive years she was a lead florist and designer for the Tournament of Roses , Rose Parade, in Pasadena California. Let’s face it, there is nothing Bette could not accomplish and not without commandeering someone to help her get it done. Her zest for life and accomplishments was large and vast. She has left this legacy to live on within her family, we see a little bit of Bette in all of us. She was a very patriotic person and a large supporter of our US Military She loved a parade of rescued horses and people marching to the band.
In the words of Bette, ‘’what are you waiting for, do it all!” Her last fortune cookie, Let go of expectations and enjoy the journey. How fitting of our’’ bumper sticker’’ Bette to leave us with words to live by.
