John Paul Calzini of Westborough, formerly of Wellesley, died peacefully in his sleep at home on September 16, 2024 after a long illness. John is survived by his loving wife Joyce of 53 years and two sons Robert of Billerica and Stephen of Ipswich. In addition to his sons he is survived by 2 daughters-in-law Rebecca and Julie, and 4 grandchildren Thomas, John, Tess, and William and a large extended family.
John worked for the Wellesley DPW for several years. He was an avid New England sports fan. John enjoyed visiting with family and great Italian food. He was funny and compassionate and a friend to all who knew him. John coached several little league and soccer teams and impacted many young athletes. His home in Wellesley was the location of numerous gatherings by friends and family. John will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., (Rt.16) Wellesley on Friday, Sept. 20 from 10am-12pm followed by a funeral service in the funeral home beginning at 12pm. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Private interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley
