Jean (Winson) Lane, 85, formerly of Rockland, MA passed away peacefully on September 15th, 2024 at her home in Norton, MA.
Jean was born in Somerville, MA the daughter of the late Howard Winson and the late Bertha (Silk) Winson. Jean moved to Rockland in 1966 and raised her four children over the next 20 years. She moved to Concord NH in 1996 and spent the next 23 years before moving to Norton under the care of her daughter Karen.
Jean lived an incredibly full life with her highest priority being family. Amongst her many interests were card nights with anyone who could hold a hand, great music, and of course, dancing the night away. She particularly appreciated her “girls” night including her dear friends, her daughters, and beautiful granddaughters. Her fondest memories were days at the beach or poolside with friends and family. And lastly, and to many, surprisingly, Jean was an avid sports fan and loved all of her Boston teams but the Patriots and TB12 had a most special place in her heart.
Jean’s great sense of humor and beautiful smile will be missed by daughters Gerri and husband Rodney Dow of Concord, NH, Cheryl and husband John Bowie of Naples, FL, Karen and husband Jeffrey Richardson of Norton, MA and son Rick and wife Sandy Lane of Carver, MA. She is also missed by her 18 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend Jean’s visiting hours Friday, September 20th from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Saturday, September 21st all are welcomed to meet at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel at 8:15 AM before proceeding to a Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM at the Holy Family Church, 403 Union Street, Rockland.
