Obituary

The beautiful Brenda Lee Seymour (Swinney) passed away on Saturday, September 14th 2024 surrounded by her family who adored her. Brenda was the daughter of the late Elton and Blanche (Carbone) Swinney. She is survived by: her dear sister RoseMarie Swinney of Medford, her beloved husband Arthur T. Seymour of Medford, daughter Marlene Seymour of Medford, son Arthur Seymour, Jr. and his wife Elise of Haverhill and son Matthew Seymour of Medford. She was a very proud grandmother to Ethan Thomas Seymour of Haverhill. She leaves her dearest chum Cheryl Montecalvo and family of Medford and sweet friend Carole Nelson and family of Medford. Brenda also leaves behind an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Brenda was simply amazing and loved beyond measure by her family and all who knew her. Her strength was so admirable as she faced her daily health struggles. Brenda was a devoted wife and dedicated mother who moved mountains. Some would say housewife, but that makes all she has done sound insignificant. She was her children’s’ biggest cheerleader and an activist in the public school system, fighting hard not only for her own children but for the children of Medford as she fought for services and programs to meet every individual need.

Often found in the kitchen making delicious homemade meals, Brenda could also be seen sitting at her favorite place, on the porch, as she welcomed family and friends with words of encouragement, advice and a good laugh or two. Hampton Beach, Newburyport or Rockport all had special memories of happier times, much like her summers spent in Kansas on the farm with her beloved cousins Monica and Linda… oh the stories!

She loved with her whole heart, as we love her. We gently say it is okay for you to be at peace and for your suffering to end. May you rest now and continue to love and guide us from above.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday, September 18 at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will be private.
